The Biosciences Building is a 169,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art Level 3 laboratory on CMU’s main campus. The new four story, LEED Silver building will serve students and faculty in the biological sciences disciplines from molecular biology and biochemistry to organismal biology and ecology, house 40 research-active faculty members, and provide space for classrooms and laboratories. Over the last decade undergraduate majors have increased 210 percent, tenure-track faculty have increased 71 percent and external grant funding has increased more than tenfold.
Michigan Air Products worked extensively with building designers and contractors, and ultimately supplied Armstrong pumps, heat exchangers and glycol fill units; Nortec humidifiers; Greenheck laboratory exhaust fans and energy recovery plenums, fans, fire and fire/smoke dampers, and bubble tight dampers; MetalFab emergency generator pressure stack; Price terminal units, sound attenuators, and grilles/registers and diffusers.
